Privacy Policy

Last updated: .

TenantTools is an independently operated Australian website for Queensland renters. This policy explains the information handled when you use the site, its browser-based tools, downloads, external links or contact address.

Summary

Browser-based tools

The break-lease calculator and removalist quote comparison tool perform their calculations locally in your web browser. TenantTools does not intentionally transmit or store the rent amounts, tenancy dates, removalist prices, supplier names or notes entered into those tools.

General page-usage information may still be recorded by analytics or normal web-server logging when a tool page is opened. Do not enter names, addresses, bank details, identity-document numbers or other sensitive personal information into a tool.

Free downloads

TenantTools downloads can be accessed without creating an account or providing an email address. The hosting service may record ordinary request information, such as the requested file, date and time, IP address, browser or device information. Google Analytics may also record that a download link was used.

Google Analytics

TenantTools uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site and to improve its pages and tools. Depending on the service configuration, the information collected can include pages viewed, approximate location, session activity, referring information, browser and device details, and identifiers stored in cookies such as the Google Analytics client identifier.

TenantTools may record specific site interactions, including a file download or an affiliate-link click. These events are used for aggregated reporting. TenantTools does not intentionally send names, email addresses, calculator entries or other directly identifying information to Google Analytics.

Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google's privacy policy.

Google advertising and cookies

Selected TenantTools pages contain Google AdSense code. When an advertising request or related Google tag loads, Google and its advertising partners may place or read cookies in your browser, or use web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers. These technologies can be used to deliver and measure advertising, limit repeated ads, detect fraud and, where permitted, personalise advertising.

Advertising and cookie behaviour can depend on your region, browser settings, Google settings and consent choices. You can manage Google advertising preferences through My Ad Center. Where TenantTools displays a privacy or consent message, use its controls to record or change the choices it offers.

Affiliate links and external websites

Some external links identify TenantTools as the referring publisher. TenantTools may record an aggregated affiliate-click event containing the provider, link placement and destination. TenantTools does not receive the payment information you provide to a retailer.

After you follow an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate platform may receive referral and device information and may use cookies or similar technologies under its own privacy policy. External websites control their own information handling, products, accounts, forms and transactions.

Hosting, security and operational records

TenantTools and its hosting or security service providers may process standard technical records needed to deliver and protect the site. These can include IP addresses, requested pages or files, timestamps, browser details, referring addresses and diagnostic or security events.

Email contact

If you contact TenantTools by email, the information handled can include your email address, name, message and any attachments you choose to send. It is used to respond to questions, investigate corrections, manage privacy or disclosure concerns, maintain security and keep an appropriate record of the correspondence.

Do not send identity documents, banking details, complete tenancy files or other sensitive personal information. TenantTools does not provide personalised legal or tenancy advice through the contact address.

How information may be disclosed

Information may be processed or disclosed to service providers that support hosting, website security, analytics, advertising and email; to an external provider when you choose to follow its link; or where disclosure is reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, protect legal rights or comply with law.

TenantTools does not sell contact details or the information entered into its browser-based tools.

Overseas processing

Google and other technology providers operate internationally. Analytics, advertising, hosting, security or email information may therefore be processed outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which those providers or their subcontractors operate. Their privacy policies provide more information about their processing locations and safeguards.

Retention and security

TenantTools keeps email and operational records only for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which they were collected, site security, record keeping or legal obligations. Analytics, advertising and hosting information is retained according to the applicable service settings and provider terms.

Reasonable steps are taken to protect information under TenantTools' control, but no internet transmission, email service or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Your choices and privacy enquiries

You can block or delete cookies using your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect advertising, analytics or some website functions. You can also use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

To ask what personal information TenantTools holds about you, request a correction or raise a privacy complaint, email admin@tenanttools.com.au. Include enough information to identify the relevant correspondence, but do not send sensitive identity documents unless they are specifically and securely requested. TenantTools will review the request and respond within a reasonable period.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the site's tools, providers or information-handling practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version.
