Questions to ask before accepting a removalist quote

Use the same questions for each provider and keep the written replies with the quote.

Scope and timing

Is this a fixed quote or an estimate that can change? Does it use my complete inventory and the same service scope? Are pickup, delivery, access and special handling details recorded? What arrival window, expected duration and delay rules apply?

Charging rules

Where does the charging clock start and stop? What minimum hours, minimum charge and billing increment apply? Does the stated rate cover the full crew and vehicle? Are travel, call-out, stairs, lifts, long carry, parking, tolls and materials included? Is GST included in every amount?

Contract and risk

What deposit, refund, cancellation and rescheduling terms apply? How must I approve extra work or a price variation? What cover applies during packing, loading, transit and unloading? What are the exclusions, excess and claims steps?
